Life After Abuse is podcast dedicated to the combatting the cycle of abuse and sexual assault that is prevalent in the our society. We’ll pay special attention to the needs of young women and women of color. The episodes will feature interviews, information and calls to action. Together we can help victims recover and live their purpose.

It is well documented that black women are experiencing a high level of intimate partner violence and are less likely to report. There are historical reasons for the latter. ranging from historically unequal treatment in the criminal justice system to a systemic cultural attitude that black women need to “protect” our men and not give ammunition to the broader society.
We’re in the middle of summer and now is the perfect time to start to think about how to help our children get through the school year safely. We should spend some time thinking about the issue of sexual violence that is occurring in our schools. The trail of professional/personal/psychological devastation and costs to society are high.
